Outdoor Roller Blinds and Their Maintenance

Roller blinds are those objects that not only offer simplicity, but also offer elegance when fitted over open spaces. The best part is that due to their wide variety, it is easy for you to choose the one that blends in perfectly with your décor. They not only act as an obstruction against light, but also promote the insulation of heat, most of the material that we use comes with certified UV protection which means the light coming in will have the UV rays cut out.

Another important function of the Outdoor Roller Blinds is to prevent rain water from splashing into the house on a rainy day, to make the yard or balcony useable most people tend to have an outdoor roller blind installed.

Operating the blinds is really simple, there is only a chain pulley for you to lift up the blinds or bring down the blinds.

Like any other category of blinds, outdoor roller blinds also require some maintenance and care to ensure their durability and long lasting life.

Since they are used outdoors there will be a stainless steel cable on the left and right corner of the blinds that we call wind guides. The function of the cable is to hold and guide the blinds in an up or down direction so that the blinds will not be lifted up when there is strong wind, without the cables holding the blinds down, the outdoor blinds are unusable.

The correct way of installing the wind guide is to make sure they are neither too tight nor too loose. If the cables are installed too tightly there will be a possibility of the cable begin detached due to strong winds. And if the cables are left too loose there will be a possibility that it will eventually go out of shape due to those strong winds.

Experience is an important factor to consider when it comes to the installation of outdoor blinds.

Cleaning of the outdoor blinds is easy, you basically just need a sponge or a cloth and ingredients such as a mild laundry detergent or even hand soaps. The job becomes quite easy as the material used is washable. To start off, you can use the vacuum cleaner to remove dirt or dust from the surface. Once you’re done with this, use a sponge with some hand soap and rub the sponge on the blinds to remove the stubborn stains, then splash water on the blinds to wash off the soap it.
