Best garden pergolas to upgrade your outdoors
What retractable pergolas and awnings for terraces?
- Terrace size: Depending on the size of the terrace, various retractable awning and pergola models can be used: For smaller terraces awnings for niches and small areas are suitable, optionally with the stretch function. For terraces with a medium size, the choice usually falls on folding-arm awnings or pergola awnings. If you have particularly large terraces, you can often combine different awning models and awning systems. If you are a restaurateur or have a business, inform about the possibilities of large area shading for your terrace.
- If the awning is exposed to strong winds, the best solution is a pergola model. By fixing them to the wall of the house, as well as additional support posts in the ground, they can withstand stronger gusts.
- If the terrace has a roof or a winter garden, under-glass awnings or on-glass awnings can be installed.
- If there is a roof overhang, open folding-arm awnings are an option. The fabric cover and folding arms are protected by the projection.
- If there is no protective eaves, a half or full cassette awning should be used.
- On some facades, a built-in awning is feasible.
- In addition to providing shade from above, side screens can be installed for side sun protection, wind protection or privacy on the patio.
- If attachment to the facade is not possible or desired, in many cases awning systems anchored to the ground or free-standing (double) awnings can be realized.
