You can attach sail shade to a house. The majority of residential sail shades are attached to the side of a home. The method and steps will depend on the building material used for the walls.

WHAT DO YOU ATTACH A SHADE SAIL TO?

These patio shade sails require a lot of tension to get them to stretch tight enough so that they look right, and don’t flap around in the wind. Our technical team attaches them to a stud on a building, a sturdy metal pole, or a wooden post for extra support where needed

CAN SHADE SAILS BE ATTACHED TO A ROOF?

Attaching a shade sail to an existing roof saves the client both space and money and it can look great. There are some very esthetic marine grade stainless steel fittings that we use to attach the sail to a wall, roof, or balcony and because we use marine grade they will never rust or deteriorate.

HOW MUCH WIND CAN A SHADE SAIL WITHSTAND?

A properly installed, good quality shade sail should be able to withstand normal wind flow. Shade sails form a tensioned structure and they should not flap in the wind. Sails generally are designed to withstand up to 85 mph winds.
